DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
I have experience in developing and implementing communications strategies. I've worked with start-ups, larger businesses and charities across all key channels. Here are some examples of my work.
Growing a digital presence
When I started working with Gridworks Development Partners, a company that invests in electricity networks across Africa, I was asked to build the business' online presence and create more engaging content. At the end of my first year, we had grown our social media following by 80%, achieved an average newsletter open rate of 50% and increased monthly website visitors by a similar amount.


Supporting a gamechanging platform
I have been working with the Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) since 2024. The platform aims to mobilise much-needed investment into frontier markets across Africa. I lead communications and content development. During my first year, I grew LinkedIn followers by 150%, developed a new series of publications and refreshed the organisation's website.
Connecting with the audiences that matter
I worked with Verod, a leading impact-focused private equity fund based in Nigeria, to develop a communications strategy to help the ensure organisations reaches key audiences. I also developed content - including videos, graphics and templates - and ran workshops to ensure the strategy could be delivered.


Building a community
When I created the My Favourite Elliott Smith Song podcast, I knew social media would be integral to building the audience. Working with my partner on the podcast, we established growing followings on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and built partnerships with related accounts. In 2020, for example, we worked with music channel La Blogotheque and musician Francis Lung to host an Instagram Live event and launch an Elliott Smith compilation album. This work has helped to ensure the podcast has reached more than 320,000 downloads so far.
Developing a digital strategy
While working at British International Investment, I was responsible for developing and implementing the company's digital and social media strategy. This involved managing the organisation's Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and podcast, as well as the accounts of senior leadership. My work delivered results too - I increased LinkedIn followers from 5,000 followers to more than 50,000 and Twitter from 1,000 to 16,000.
